Programme overview
This programme is specifically designed to meet the demands within research, field archaeology and cultural heritage management. It combines high scientific and theoretical standards with intensive practical training. You will be taught how to excavate and document the past, how to apply the latest digital technologies for documentation and visualisation, how to analyse artefacts and other archaeological materials, how to analyse buildings and landscapes, and how to communicate your findings and research results to a wider audience. We offer Sweden’s only international MA programme in archaeology and ancient history, as well as a rich, multidisciplinary teaching and research environment.
Special features of the programme:
- Project-based learning.
- Archaeological Field School at the Viking Age site of Uppåkra.
- A wide range of courses with a direct link to our professors’ current research projects: Buildings as Archaeology, Digital Archaeology with Focus on GIS and Virtual Reality, and Archaeological Studies of Human Landscapes.

Perspectivas de carrera
Después de graduarse de este programa, tendrá la formación arqueológica, la experiencia documentada y las habilidades de trabajo en equipo que necesita para obtener un empleo en el sector del patrimonio cultural, como curador de museo o como arqueólogo de campo.
