El Asociado en Artes en Artes Creativas está diseñado para estudiantes que buscan una amplia experiencia en artes visuales y escénicas, como dibujo, pintura, canto, interpretación instrumental, escritura creativa, danza e interpretación oral.
- Students will create and critique works of art in a supportive environment using traditional and new art media according to established principles of art and design. Students can communicate orally and in writing about art and design-related topics.
- Los estudiantes utilizarán el pensamiento crítico para analizar, comparar y contrastar las culturas y los sistemas de creencias del mundo a través del estudio de la antropología, la filosofía, la historia, los idiomas y/o las humanidades.
- Los estudiantes desarrollarán habilidades de pensamiento crítico mientras analizan, comparan, contrastan y rastrean el desarrollo de formas de arte de diferentes partes del mundo, desde la antigüedad hasta los tiempos modernos.
Para obtener este título, los estudiantes deben cumplir los siguientes requisitos:
- Finalización de 60 unidades aplicables de grado con un GPA general de 2.0.
- Finalización de un mínimo de 18 unidades semestrales en la especialidad con una calificación de C (o P) o mejor.
- Cumplimiento de los requisitos de graduación AA/AS, CSU GE-B o IGETC.
El programa requiere la finalización de 18 unidades en las siguientes dos áreas:
I. Artes Aplicadas (un total de 6 unidades de una o más disciplinas de Artes Creativas). Cursos en los que el estudiante participa en las artes, como dibujo, pintura, canto, interpretación instrumental, escritura creativa, danza e interpretación oral.
II. Historia o Teoría (total de 12 unidades). Cursos en los que el estudiante estudia la historia y/o teoría de materias relacionadas con las Artes Creativas. El estudiante debe completar tres unidades en las siguientes disciplinas: Arte, Inglés, Danza y Música. Se recomiendan los siguientes cursos en esta área (los cursos relevantes que no se encuentran en esta lista también pueden aprobarse curso por curso):

Scholarships at Mission
Mission College offers a variety of scholarships ranging from $50 to several thousand dollars per year. Eligibility may vary based on fields of study, community and/or college involvement, and/or financial need.

NEW Progress Pride Scholarship!
For the first time, the Mensa Foundation seeks to award our Progress Pride Scholarship: up to two $10,000 scholarships. The scholarship is intended for college-bound, college, or graduate students at U.S. universities who identify as both BIPOC and LGBTQ—and who have demonstrated positive service to the BIPOC and LGBTQ communities.
POINT Foundation Scholarship
The Community College Scholarship Program launched in 2016 and went national in 2017. To be selected for the scholarship, students are evaluated on academic performance and potential, financial need, involvement in school and community, and goals for the future. Deadline to Apply May 3rd.
Mission Promise Program
Mission College is proud to expand our Mission Promise Program to make college more affordable for our new, first-time college students! Eligible students will have their enrollment fees paid for their first two years AND get up to $1,000 to pay for books or other educational expenses.
