The tourism industry is currently one of the largest service industries in the world; employing approximately 10% of the global labor force and contributing to about 6% of world exports. Tourism shares the characteristics of many international service industries; for the Omani economy, however, it is unique as it offers the basis for a viable economic diversification and employment creation on the one side, and it is highly competitive due to Oman’s unique tourism product on the other. This program will, therefore, equip you with business knowledge and skills focusing on this vital service sector. The program will also consider tourism via the prism of sustainability; providing the skills and the knowledge that can ensure that growth of this sector will not be at the expense of the society or the environment but rather enriching them.
Opportunities for Further Studies
With an internationally accredited degree, you will be able to pursue your post-graduate education in business and tourism either nationally or internationally.
Once you graduate, you will be able to take over responsible administrative or management positions in: Tourism industry, Business, Marketing , Exhibition and convention industry, Regional and urban planning, Real estate, Residential/ tourism projects development , Cultural and environmental agencies and the banking sector, Social and non-governmental organizations, Government (Ministries, municipalities), Self-employed (entrepreneur).
