Introducción
Descripción general del aprendizaje supervisado, con especial atención a los métodos de regresión y clasificación. El programa de estudios incluye regresión lineal y polinómica, regresión logística y análisis discriminante lineal; validación cruzada y métodos de bootstrap, selección de modelos y regularización (ridge y lasso); modelos no lineales, splines y modelos aditivos generalizados; métodos basados en árboles, bosques aleatorios e impulso; máquinas de vectores de soporte; Algunos aprendizajes no supervisados: componentes principales y agrupamiento (k-medias y jerárquico). La informática se realiza en R, mediante sesiones de tutoría y tareas.
Este curso de matemáticas ligero se ofrece de forma remota únicamente a través de segmentos de video (estilo MOOC). Los asistentes técnicos realizarán horas de oficina semanales remotas utilizando una plataforma en línea como Google Hangout o BlueJeans. Hay cuatro tareas, un examen parcial y un examen final, todos los cuales se administran de forma remota.
