El programa de Licenciatura en Musicoterapia prepara a los estudiantes para una carrera gratificante en musicoterapia y requiere una amplia formación en habilidades musicales y clínicas. El programa BMT brinda la capacitación clínica e interdisciplinaria necesaria para satisfacer las diversas necesidades emocionales, sociales, cognitivas y físicas de las personas a lo largo de la vida.
Como profesión de salud aliada establecida, los musicoterapeutas trabajan en una variedad de entornos que incluyen consultorios privados, hospitales, hospicios, escuelas y otras instalaciones.
Los graduados de este programa son elegibles para presentarse al examen de la Junta de Certificación de Musicoterapeutas (CBMT). Al aprobar el examen, los graduados obtienen la credencial MT-BC (musicoterapeuta certificado por la junta) y luego son elegibles para postularse para ejercer como musicoterapeuta profesional con licencia (LPMT).
This program is designed to satisfy the current educational requirements prescribed by the AMTA and NASM. The baccalaureate program of music therapy consists of four (4) years of academic work, followed by a six-month, full-time, off-campus internship.
It is designed for those desiring a career in music therapy. Graduates of this program will be eligible to sit for the examination of the Certification Board of Music Therapists (CBMT). Qualified applicants will be eligible to receive the MT-BC credential.

Core Curriculum
Georgia College, in cooperation with other institutions of the University System of Georgia, has adopted a core curriculum to allow the transfer of credit from one University System institution to another without penalty to the student. The University System's core curriculum is comprised of five areas: Areas A - E.
Students successfully completing an Area A-E course at one University System institution will receive full credit in Areas A-E for the course upon transfer to another System institution, even if the area has not been completed, as long as the course is within the area hour limitations of either the sending institution or the receiving institution and the student does not change from a non-science major to a science major.

Additional Degree Requirements
Satisfactorily complete all graduation requirements listed in the academic policies section of this catalog.
The internship is required before graduation, after the completion of all coursework and 180 pre-internship training hours. Students must enroll for at least 1 credit of internship for one semester and must be enrolled in a Clinical Internship for each semester in which they are actively in an internship.
